"Dying to be Thin" Documentary Feature

The Creston Public Library invites you to look into the world of eating disorders with its presentation of the documentary film Dying to be Thin.

According to a 2002 survey conducted by the Government of Canada 1.5% of Canadian women aged 15 – 24 had a clinically diagnosed eating disorder. In a popular culture that associates self-worth with an unattainable physical appearance, body image issues can begin early in life.

This film introduces viewers to students, ballet dancers, fashion models and other young women who are seeking recovery or have conquered their disease. Viewers will also discover how leading eating disorder specialists are making dramatic advances in the diagnosis and treatment of these devastating diseases.

Saturday May 26 @ 2:00 pm

Admission is free             Running time is 60 minutes
