Between The Covers is an informal book club which meets on one Tuesday a month at 7:30pm in members’ homes. Contact the library if you are interested in joining.
Locavore Book Club
This book club delves into the whys and hows of local sustainable food on the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the library. Each month the club chooses a non-fiction locavore book to read and discuss. In the 2014-15 session we read many books on the topic of locavorism; for 2015-16 we focussed more on specific hands-on topics for food preservation. Also new to the 2015-16 session was the partnering with the Creston Valley Food Action Coalition for their speaker series on coordinated topics. The 2016-17 series focussed on methods of increasing food production at home. In the 2017-18 series our theme is INSPIRATION as we look at various topics pertaining to eating locally.
