Kootenay Library Federation

Creston Public Library is a member of a federation of libraries called Kootenay Library Federation.

Kootenay Library Federation is a federation of 20 libraries which work together to offer events and programs, receive discounts on supplies and materials through consortia ordering, and offer member support in a variety of areas of library service.

WAYS THAT WE WORK WITH THE KOOTENAY LIBRARY FEDERATION
Below are some examples of how the Kootenay Library Federation has supported Creston Valley Public Library over the past few years:

Grant to support migration to Sitka Integrated Library System
Staff training and support through KLF Conferences and subscription to training software
Grant to support purchase of new library cards
Sponsorship of One Book One Kootenay and various author tours
Annual offering of Summer Reading Club facilitator training
Support for annual Board training through Trustees Orientation Propgram
Coordination of IT Assessment at all member libraries, in collaboration with BC Libraries Cooperative
Discounted prices on library supplies and database purchases
Shared purchase of Book Club sets to support area book clubs
Support for BC Books for Babies program, administered by the library in partnership with Success By 6 and Interior Health
