WHAT MAY I BORROW?

Almost anything in our collection!

Certain exceptions can’t be borrowed and are meant to be read within the library:

Current magazine issues
Reference materials
Newspapers

HOW MANY MAY I BORROW?

You may borrow 50 titles in total at any given time.

HOW LONG MAY I KEEP ITEMS?

3 weeks. Print-Disabled and Home Service patrons may keep items for 6 weeks.

RENEWALS

Material may be renewed up to 2 times as long as it is not reserved by another patron. You can renew all items (with the exception of Outlook Online-initiated interlibrary loans) online through your library account, in person, or over the phone.

FINES

Starting January 2nd 2020, there will be no late fees.

Item replacement fee will go into effect once the item has been missing or “lost” at 6 months overdue. The replacement fee will be cleared once the item is returned.

Parents/guardians are responsible for materials signed out on their children’s cards. Replacement cost charges for lost & damaged items apply. Children’s Cards may only be used for items for children’s use.

Books Over 35,000 books for readers of all ages & interests.
Adult Fiction & Paperbacks are colour-coded:

  • Blue: Science Fiction & Fantasy
  • Brown: Western
  • Green: Romance
  • Orange: General
  • Red: Mystery & Thriller
  • Yellow: War
3 weeksNOTE: If others are waiting, the loan period is limited to 2 weeks.
CD-ROM Over 25 reference CD-ROMs are available for in-library use, including Garden Architect, 3D Room Planner, and the National Geographic. In-Library Use Only
Magazines 26 magazine subscriptions with limited back issues. Exception: back issues for National Geographic from 1962. Time Magazine back issues available on CD-ROM. Click here for a list of our magazines. Current issue: In-Library Use Only

Maps Small collection of local, topographical and major Canadian city and Canadian road maps are available for in-library use or photocopying. In-Library Use Only
Music CDs Enjoy some music! Our collection contains over 500 CDs country, rock, jazz, classical, movie/show soundtracks. We also have a large children’s music selection. 3 weeks
Newspapers Fort Nelson News In-Library Use Only
Vertical File Contains newspaper and magazine articles as well as pamphlets on issues of current interest. Over 60 subjects on file. In-Library Use Only
DVD/Video We have hundreds of movies available in this “Cultural-Educational” collection. 1 week
